Job Description

The City of Spring Hill is currently accepting applications for a full-time Police Officer in the Spring Hill Police Department. This position will be assigned to the patrol division with the responsibility of enforcing all federal, state and municipal laws and ordinances.

Essential Duties

  • Responding to calls for service
  • Traffic enforcement
  • Investigation of crimes and accidents
  • Assisting the community
  • Other duties as assigned/required.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age at the time of hire
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Valid Kansas driver’s license with acceptable driving record
  • Must be able to pass a background investigation
  • No felony convictions
  • No domestic violence charges
  • Must pass a psychological exam and drug screening
  • Must be willing to work weekends, holidays and overnight shifts

Salary range begins at $19.15/hour for non-certified candidates and $23.40/hour for certified candidates with potential higher rate based on experience, training and other related qualifications. Benefits package includes KP&F retirement, paid vacation/sick leave, insurance benefits, holiday pay including additional compensatory time and generous overtime opportunities.
